Isis:
Isis is a group of people in Iraq trying to take over and rule under their power. They are brutal people and believe that their will always be evil in the world and even if their all killed Isis will never be stopped because their will always be people who believe in what they do. The extremist group leader is named Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. There was recently an airstrike attack in Irag by the U.S. that was said to have killed 17 Isis militants where some of their leaders were seen hours before. Our hope was that we terminated some of their group leaders and not just some of the people fighting with them. |
Desert Storm/Gulf War:
Operation Desert Storm, popularly known as the first Gulf War, was the successful U.S.-Allied response to Iraq's attempt to overwhelm neighboring Kuwait. Kuwait's liberation in 1991 brought to the battlefield a new era of military technology. Nearly all battles were aerial and ground combat within Iraq, Kuwait, and outlying areas of Saudi Arabia. Iraq inflicted little damage on the American coalition; however, they fired missiles on Israeli citizens. U.S. casualties: Army: 98 battle; 105 nonbattle Navy: six battle; eight nonbattle Marines: 24 battle; 26 nonbattle Air Force: 20 battle; six nonbattle. |
